Our first auction at our new Rutherford street premises is done and dusted.. and what a blast it was! Thanks to everyone who came down or placed online bids, it’s great to have such a huge amount of support from our customers.
As ever we’ve been hard at work thinking of the best ways to sell your stuff and making the buying process as smooth as possible. Those that were at our auction on Saturday will know that we trialled a new way of viewing our items. For those that couldn’t make it, we have installed a flatscreen behind Lenny, so that while he calls the auction you can all view a close-up photo of each item. This is also available on our gallery, so if you’re using our online absentee bidding option, you can get a closer look at each item (if you’d like more info though, don’t hesitate to ask, always happy to help). We’ve had a lot of positive feedback on our flatscreen “pointer” and I’m really pleased to say that it’ll be sticking around for a while.
We’ve also had a lot of fantastic feedback on our new premises and we’re so pleased to hear that you all love it as much as we do. We’re looking forward to being here through the changes of the season too and really love that it’s not only carpeted and has two heat pumps/aircon units, but also that it has fantastic light from the huge windows. Plus, we’re lucky enough to be next door to Red Cafe, which now stocks my favourite Best Ugly Bagels from Wellington. It such a lovely spot, don’t know why we didn’t do it sooner!
Philosophy of the week:
“I’m not a control freak, I just know how to fold a towel the right way.
You can’t just start folding all willy-nilly, like some linen rebel.”
Ok, so no-one helps fold those blimmin towels anyway.. I often wonder if I’m the only person in the world with kids who just hate folding towels - I mean, what’s with that!
Next week's teaser:
Coming up next Saturday 21st April, we have a fabulous retro house lot, a bang-on-trend soft pink leather couch and one or two beautiful antique dining suites. We’ve also got our first few pallets of commercial food - 10 & 20 KG bags of flour and sugar, 3 KG cans of peaches and kidney beans.. you get my drift. Come down and have a look or check out our facebook page for a gallery and a video walkthrough.
Tall Poppy stuff:
Lenny has yet another new listing right here in town. 115 Vanguard Street has just come on the market, with 3 bedrooms, a sleepout and a double garage it’d make a fabulous rental or family home. Oh, and did I mention that it’s zoned for the popular Hampden Street School - one of the best schools in town? Yes, I did my final practicum there and have been fortunate enough to teach there on the odd occasion. Biased? I don’t know what you mean!
While you may think we’ve been far too busy with our move to help with yours, think again. We can always make time for our fabulous customers. So if you’re after a no strings appraisal, or just fancy a chat about house values and marketing strategies then feel free to pop by for a chat.
